Job Summary

Provide diagnostic, professional palliative care services to the patients of the Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. and its affiliates per the terms of the contract. Comply with the quality assurance, compliance and other administrative functions of the department as per the corporate and departmental policies.

Responsibilities
--- Educate health care workers (including physicians) and the general public about objectives and goals of Palliative medicine. --- Continue CAMC's consult service providing pain and symptom management and assistance with end of life decisions, with the primary focus on quality of life. Promote physical comfort and emotional, social and spiritual well-being for seriously ill patients and their families. --- Participate in developing policies and procedures regarding Palliative Care. --- Participate in developing an educational curriculum for residents, medical students and geriatric fellows.
