- The Vascular Access Nurse is responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) or Midline catheters.
Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines.
Serve as preceptors for RN's who have successfully completed a training course for the insertion of PICC Lines.
Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required.
Reports to: Director of Critical Care Services

Plans nursing care. Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process. Delivers direct patient care appropriate to age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients. Obtain physician order, consent, perform arterial line insertion and documentation
Minimum Education x Graduate of a Program in Discipline -- - Preferred x Required
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Minimum Work Experience Training in Vascular Access Required
Current licensure by WV State Board of Nursing.
