- The Vascular Access Nurse is responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) orMidline catheters.
Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines.
Serve as preceptors for RN's who have successfully completed a training course for the insertion of PICC Lines.
Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required.
Plans nursing care.
Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
Delivers direct patient care appropriate to age of patient served including adult and geriatric patients.
Obtain physician order, consent, perform arterial line insertion and documentation
x Graduate of a Program in Discipline -- - Preferred x Required
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Minimum Work Experience
Training in Vascular Access Required
