JOB DESCRIPTION

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as a Technical Trainer or Sr Technical Trainer. The work locations are flexible dependent upon selected candidates' location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

--- Maintains technical subject matter expertise and understanding of current business processes.
--- Acts as subject matter expert in specific area of technical (operational) expertise.
--- Conducts hands-on technical training and operator qualification portions of the new hire training program.
--- Works with contractors to ensure operator qualification and drug and alcohol plan compliance in a timely manner.
--- Consults with business partners to clarify and define work procedures and processes and develops and documents new work procedures and processes.
--- Monitors regulatory changes and updates/develops training to meet standards.
--- Works with leadership to ensure proper operator qualifications are assigned and completed, conducts hands-on evaluations and audits field evaluators.

Preferences for Both Levels:

--- Natural gas distribution/transmission pipeline operations experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Trainer

3-4 years related experience

Sr Technical Trainer

5+ years related experience

Both Technical Trainer and Sr Technical Trainer

• In-depth subject matter expertise in technical area of instruction
• Thorough understanding of business processes related to area of instruction.
• In depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design
• Proficiency in equipment operation/troubleshooting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent personal computer skills
• Competence in using software applications critical to target audience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management skills
• Good coaching skills
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials.
• Ability to train and lead others.
• Ability to interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers.
  
  Education
  Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
