About the Job:
EHS Leader
We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned
EHS Leader at a globally recognized chemical plant. This role
demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of both
safety and environmental compliance within the industrial sector.
As the EHS Leader, you will be pivotal in overseeing the
development and enforcement of safety, health, and environmental
initiatives, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and
company policies to promote a secure and environmentally
responsible workplace. Your technical expertise will foster an
integrated approach to risk management, continuously improving our
SHE practices and reinforcing our commitment to sustainable
operations.
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, establish, and maintain comprehensive SHE policies,
procedures, and programs tailored to our specific operational
needs.
- Manage and oversee the entire scope of the SHE program
including regular audits, precise monitoring, detailed reporting,
and meticulous record-keeping.
- Offer technical guidance and support on a range of SHE issues
to departments across the organization, ensuring a unified approach
to health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate SHE training programs for all employees and
contractors, enhancing understanding and compliance across the
board.
- Conduct thorough audits and inspections, lead investigative
efforts post-accidents/incidents to determine root causes, and
prescribe actionable corrective measures.
- Engage actively with regulatory bodies to ensure constant
compliance with current SHE regulations and adapt proactive
measures to meet future changes in legal requirements.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Engineering,
or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in safety and environmental
roles within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state air, water, and waste
regulations, including RCRA, OSHA/PSM, NFPA, and TSCA.
- Proven track record of managing SHE programs and ensuring
compliance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong familiarity with current regulatory requirements
prevalent in the chemical industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Industrial Hygiene or Safety
(CIH, CSP, or equivalent).
- Advanced degree in an environmental science or occupational
safety discipline.
- Proven leadership experience in guiding multiple teams towards
comprehensive compliance strategies.
- Experience in implementing LEAN principles or similar
methodologies within safety management systems.
- Previous direct interaction with federal or state environmental
and health & safety enforcement agencies.
Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Robust knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment methods
specific to chemical production facilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively
disseminate SHE information to a non-technical audience.
- Capable of designing and delivering engaging training sessions
on complex SHE topics.
- Proficient in the use of SHE management software and common
digital productivity tools like MS Office.
